Past Project: Resilient Neighbourhood Economies

Resilient Neighbourhood Economies (RNE) is a multi-year pilot aimed at improving the economic opportunities available to low-income people in two Toronto neighbourhoods: Thorncliffe Park and Kingston-Galloway/Orton Park.

This project is led by the Metcalf Foundation in partnership with the Centre for City Ecology, Thorncliffe Neighbourhood Office, and East Scarborough Storefront. This initiative aims to develop an evolving series of strategic actions that build on pre-existing local work, take advantage of emerging opportunities, and link motivated people to key resources at the neighbourhood and city levels.

The Centre for City Ecology was a member of the original Resource Team, providing project management, hosting an online conversation about local economic development and hosting learning sessions.
